Hunting the Forest Spirit: Mythological Anime ~ Presented by East Longmeadow Library Assistant Sarah Hodge-Wetherbe as part of the The Great Bay State Library Fundraiser. From Sailor Moon to Wolfs Rain, Japanese anime borrows from many rich mythologies from all over the world. This program will look at themes that are often seen in anime, as well as symbolism and direct references to mythologies and cultural stories. The presentation will concludes with an open floor discussion along with a question and answer period. The program is suggested for those 15 years old and up.7pm
Author Corrine Demas will read from her newest book, Two Christmas Mice. She is the author of The Littlest Matryoshka and Saying Goodbye to Lulu. Join us for ornament making, and get a book signed for your library collection.Saturday December 3

Join Granby Children's Librarian, Janice McArdle, for The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe movie tie -in story & activity time for teens and tweens. After a short reading from the book, we will team you up for trivia, marvel you with magic and spells, trace the steps of the Pevensie children in Narnia, and figure out How big is Aslan? You need not have read the book!

Granby children's librarian Janice McArdle hosts Cornell Nash from DIno Nash as kids get to make dino track with REAL fossil prints. Fun activities and stories follow with Jane Yolen's series of How Do Dinosaurs.... books.
Noon
Janice McArdle keeps on trucking as she helps us to welcome TV22 Meteorologist Brian Lapis. Brian will read If Frogs Made the Weather and One Windy Wednesday and answer questions about his work. Janice will then help all in making a frog thermometer OR a frog fridge magnet

Hadley librarians will treat us all to an afternoon of childhood classics - fun activities suitable for all ages will follow

Belchertown children's librarian Jennifer Whitehead will treat the whole family to an afternoon of great stories. Learn what life is like with eight legs when Jen reads Diary of a Spider by Doreen Cronin. Find out how two brothers survive a heartpounding space adventure when she reads Zathura by Chris Van Allsburg. And settle in for a sweet evening as Jen treats us to the opening chapters of Roald Dahl's classic, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
